Burning CD's and DVD's

Are eMacs Able to burn CD's and DVD's?

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

What model eMac?

If it has a Combo drive you can burn CDs. If it has a Super drive you can burn CDs & DVDs.

Open system Profiler and select ATA. You optical drive should show up usually with it's abilities listed in the name. To Texas Mac Man's point however this can be found out by your model.

If you feel that you must be able to burn a DVD on your eMac then your best bet is to scrap an IDE DVD burner off an old PC. I'm not sure where you would find one now days but a quick trip to Good Will is a good place to start.
